The opposition Citizens First (CF) Party has reiterated that the two years during which the Governing United Party for National Development – UPND – has been in power have brought nothing but misery to the country.

Speaking when he featured on a radio programme in Lusaka, CF President Harry Kalaba says the country has not shown any progress in the two years under the UPND Government.

Mr. Kalaba states that the level of struggle in the country is so high considering the high cost of living, adding that, today the price of fuel is twice the amount they found when they were in opposition.

He further notes that it is saddening that street vendors have also been chased from the street without giving them alternative space to trade from and without any considerations that they are the same people who voted for them.

Meanwhile, UPND Copperbelt Provincial Deputy Information and Publicity Secretary, Godfrey Kamangu says Mr Kalaba should be last person to comment on the performance given that he was a senior member of the former ruling Patriotic Front government which he says subjected Zambians to abject poverty.

Mr Kamangu has since challenged the Opposition leader to conduct spot checks on markets across the country and come back with correct information for the Zambian citizens.
