MUTUNDU WARD RESIDENTS CALL FOR MORE CDF SENSITISATION PROGRAMMES
Written by Mafken FM Newsroom on 15 August 2023
Some residents of Mufulira’s Mutundu ward have called on Mufulira Municipal Council to conduct more sanitisation programmes on the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
This came to light when Future-Prenuer Zambia conducted CDF sensitisation in the ward.
The residents disclosed that only a few people who have access to radio and television receive information on CDF.
The residents have appealed to the local authority to adequately sensitise them on how they can benefit from CDF, especially on the requirements needed to access the grants and loans.
And Future-Prenuer Zambia Executive Director Martin Kampamba says Peri-Urban areas should be prioritised when conducting CDF sensitisation programmes.
Mr. Kampamba adds that these areas are usually the least places to receive information, hence the need to conduct robust sensitisation.
Meanwhile, Mufulira Municipal Council Assistant Public Relations Manager Thandiwe Tembo has revealed that ever since the CDF sensitisation programme was launched in the District, residents have been given adequate information on how they can access CDF services aimed at improving their livelihood.
The sensitisation programme, which has been ongoing for two weeks, came to an end yesterday.
