NGOS – THE CHURCH DONATE TO MUFULIRA HEALTH FACILITIES

In a bid to manage waste in clinics in the Mufulira district, the Buyantanshi Women’s Support group, in collaboration with Development and Aid People to People (DAPP) in Zambia and the Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ) have started donating waste bins and gloves to five clinics across the municipality.

Two waste bins and gloves have been donated to Buteko Clinic which were acquired at a total cost of K1, 200 while the total cost for the remaining items to be distributed to the five clinics respectively is K15, 000.

Speaking when he handed over the items to the clinic at Mufulira Municipal Council, Buyantanshi Women Support Coordinator, Bornface Ndhlovu says the donation is aimed at stopping infection outbreaks that mostly comes when waste is not managed properly in health facilities.

And receiving the donation, Buteko Clinic Registered Nurse, Gift Nambokolwe says the donation to the clinic will go a long way.

Meanwhile, Mufulira Mayor Tanaeli Kamanga has thanked the organisation for the donations.
