Kanchibiya MP Urges Government To Clear ZAMPOST Workers Backlog Of Salaries

Kanchibiya Member Of Parliament Sunday Chanda has called for urgent action to address the Zambia Postal Services (ZAMPOST) liquidity crisis.
Mr. Chanda tells Mafken News that ZAMPOST is vital to the country’s communication infrastructure and economic development, and its collapse would have far-reaching consequences.
He has since called on Government to clear the backlog of salaries immediately to restore morale, with clear communication on steps being taken to stabilize operations and review policies and laws to give ZAMPOST the financial flexibility needed to compete.
The law maker also adds that exploring privatization or public-private partnerships (PPPs) can help in injecting the much-needed expertise and financial resources and improving efficiency while maintaining government oversight.
