MDC Warns Against Using Mulungushi Textiles Reopening for Political Gain

The Opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) says the reopening of Mulungushi Textiles in Kabwe must not be used as a tool for political campaigns, as was the case during previous regimes.

MDC Vice President Leonard Hikaumba says the UPND government must now prove to the people that the reopening of the textile company is meant to ensure its viability for the benefit of all.

Mr. Hikaumba recalls that on some occasions, the company was reopened by previous regimes with the aim of wooing voters.

He has urged government to quickly restore the company to its full production capacity and ensure its sustainability.
