UNZA student put on defence on a charge of indecent assault

The Lusaka Magistrate Court has found a student from the University of Zambia with a case to answer, in a matter he is charged with indecent assault.
22 year old Ernest Sikazwe is facing one count of indecent assault after he allegedly put his hands into the pant of a female student and touched her vagina while she was asleep.
The accused appeared before Lusaka Magistrate Thandosa Chabala who found him with a case to answer and placed him on his defense.
An arresting officer Lewis Malamba had testified that he received a report for indecent assault from a female student on 30th of November, 2019.
He testified that the complainant reported that she was indecently assaulted by the accused on the 29th of November 2019, around 04:00 hours while she was sleeping in her hostel, the accused allegedly entered her room and started touching her vagina.
The victim screamed after noticing that the accused was touching her vagina and the accused ran into the toilet and locked himself but he was later apprehended by the students.
