More Houses Destroyed By Heavy Rains In Mufulira’s Murundu Area

Heavy rains being experienced in Mufulira District on the Copperbelt Province have continued destroying houses with the current being in Murundu ward.

 

Murundu Ward Development Committee Chairperson Darlington Kahilu has expressed disappointment that government has not paid attention to the situation in Murundu where families are seeking for aid, despite reports being presented to the District Commissioner’s office.

Mr. Kahilu says the situation keeps getting worse every day due to continuous downpours and the affected residents are desperately waiting for government’s assistance.

 

Meanwhile, one the affected residents Lilian Chilufya has told Mafken News that her house collapsed last night after a heavy downpour and her family is finding refuge in the neighbor’s house.
