Mufulira Municipal Council Public Relations Officer Thandiwe Tembo says the district has taken proactive steps to prevent any cholera outbreak in the district citing a range of measures that have been put in place to ensure the health and safety of residents.

In an interview with Mafken FM News, Ms. Tembo says one of the key measures is the intensification of waste collection in markets, the central business district, and residential areas.

Furthermore, the council is conducting regular food and water sampling to ensure that residents are not consuming contaminated food and water.

Ms Tembo adds that the Keep Zambia Clean and Green Exercise is among the initiatives aimed at ensuring that the district remains free from cholera and other diseases.
