GOVERNMENT REVISES UPWARDS BUS AND TRUCK DRIVERS MINIMUM WAGE

Government has announced an increment of the minimum wage for bus and truck drivers to K3000 and K4000 respectively.
Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka, Labour and social security minister Brenda Tambatamba said the increament is effective April 10, 2025.
The minister further encouraged employers to embrace unionism and allow their employees to join trade unions of their choice.
She disclosed that her ministry is closely working with other ministries such as ministry of home affairs and ministry of transport and logistics in protecting local jobs.
Ms Tambatamba highlighted that trucks with out sleeping cabin has moved from 25 US dollars to 30 US dollars and trucks with sleeping cabin from 15 US dollars to 20 US dollars.
