President Hichilema Urges Church To Play Critical Role In Promoting National Unity

The church has been hailed for its crucial role in fostering national unity and development in Zambia. This sentiment was echoed at the United Church of Zambia’s (UCZ) Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in Kitwe’s Mindolo area.
Speaking at the event guest of honour Republican President Hakainde Hichilema who was represented by Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Chipoka Mulenga presented a donation of K250,000.
Mr. Mulenga on behalf of the president emphasized the importance of the church in promoting unity among politicians from different parties, encouraging them to work together towards the common goal of developing the country.
Meanwhile, Bishop of the United Church of Zambia (UCZ), Reverend Festus Chulu, has praised the youth for standing as a pillar of faith and unity over the years.
As the UCZ celebrates its 60th anniversary, Reverend Chulu emphasized that this milestone signifies more than just a passage of time, stating that it presents an opportunity for the church to continue providing relevant support, counsel, and wisdom to the nation.
