In a phone interview on the Mafken Fm express Chitchat Review, Mr. Mwanza criticized the handling of the Kariba Dam by ZESCO.

He pointed out that despite warnings of an impending drought for the 2023-2024 season, government continued to sign contracts for power exports.

Describing this action as incompetent, Mr. Mwanza stressed that the power utility company should have focused on preserving water resources rather than exporting power during a challenging period.

He emphasized that Zambians should not suffer while foreign countries benefit from the nation’s electricity, urging government to prioritize the needs of its citizens by deferring all current export contracts.
