PF Members Advise ECL To Retire From Politics Following the Quashing Of His Case

Over 20 Patriotic Front (PF) Members of Parliament have acknowledged the Constitutional Court ruling to bar former republican president Edgar Lungu to recontest the 2026 and future elections.
The Members of Parliament have unanimously stated that the decision aligns with the demands of the constitution of Zambia.
And presenting the notes on behalf of the M.P’s in Lusaka, Kantanshi Member of Parliament Anthony Mumba said the judgement is a statement of the Zambian people’s wish to limit the holding of the highest office to two terms.
The M.P’s thanked the former head of state for his leadership during his time and advised him to accept the outcome of the judgement. The M.P’s have since advised the former head of state to retire from active politics.
