ZAMMSA Acknowledges Delays In Delivering Ambulances Countrywide

The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has acknowledged the delay in the delivery of ambulances across the country. Out of the 156 ambulances ordered only 11 have been delivered thus far.
According to the original delivery schedule, all 156 ambulances were to be delivered by the 31st of December 2024. However, due to unforeseen issues the suppliers have requested a contract extension, resulting in the current delay.
ZAMMSA Senior Manager Corporate Communications Bradley Chingobe says the agency is working with its suppliers to expedite the delivery process and ensure that the remaining ambulances are delivered promptly.
Mr. Chingobe notes says the importance of these ambulances in providing critical medical support to communities can not be over emphasized hence the agency is committed to resolving the issue swiftly.
He adds that the agency has In the interim implemented measures to minimize any impact on healthcare services and ensure that patient care remains uninterrupted.
