26 Year Old Kitwe Woman Raped At Gunpoint

A 26 Year Old woman of Ipusukilo Township in Kitwe district, is reported to have been raped by one male person she can identify if seen. This incident occurred yesterday, November, 12, 2024 between 15: 00 hours and 16: 00 hours in Riverside area.
According to the victim identified as Precious Kapya, the suspect was with a friend and armed with a Pistol when he raped her. Confirming this incident to Mafken news, Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba has narrated that, the victim was coming from her work place where she works as a maid.
As she was heading home, she reached the Copperbelt Energy Corporation-CEC- Solar Plant, and at that point a vehicle which is grey in colour ,stopped and the driver who was with a friend asked if they can give her a lift to which she refused.
The driver then produced a Pistol to threaten her that if she refuses to get into the vehicle, they would kill her. Afraid that she may die, the victim had no choice but to get into the vehicle which drove into Riverside Township at the place the victim is able to identify.
From there she was raped by the armed male person whilst his friend remained outside the vehicle waiting for him.
Mr. Mweemba adds that the victim sustained painful vagina, painful legs and general body pains as the suspect was using force on her. After the act, she was told to go and never report the matter to the police or she would be killed.
The victim however still went ahead and reported the matter to the police after which a medical report was issued to her and she was escorted to the hospital. Police have already visited the scene of crime but no arrest has been made thus far.
