Traders at Lusaka’s Kamwala market have called for heightened sanitation measures ahead of the rainy season.

Market chairperson Gedion Mwape says the current sanitary situation at the trading area is not up to standard and can fuel an outbreak of Cholera.

Mr. Mwape has told Mafken News in an interview that there is need to put in remedial measures to prevent any outbreak of the disease by ensuring that the market surroundings are kept clean.

He has called on the Lusaka City Council to see to it that drainages are unblocked including constant collection of garbage.
