The People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) is concerned that an institution like the Anti Corruption Commission ACC still remains un-led for such a long period of time especially looking at the reports of corruption that the country has witnessed.
PAC President Andyford Banda observes that there are countless number of Zambians who are capable and competent to occupy the position of ACC Director General and be appointed Board members, therefore the vacuum created is unnecessarily long.
Mr. Banda asserts that under President Hakainde Hichilema, the fight against corruption is not going anywhere due to the patronage system that has been promoted under his government where competence and merit do not matter but loyalty and affiliation are paramount.
The opposition leader tell Mafken News that President Hichilema is promoting an exploitive colonial system of governance where those appointed are strategically put in those positions to advance personal and party interests.
Mr. Banda has since called on President Hakainde Hichilema to ensure he takes the fight against corruption serious and immediately cover the vacuum at the ACC by appointing the Board to appoint the DG to prove his critics wrong.
