Mines and Minerals Development permanent secretary Dr. Hapenga Kabeta says the attainment of the targetted 3 million tonnes of copper production per annum will improve service provision in the country.
Dr. Kebeta has told Journalists in Lusaka that once achieved, there will be creation of employment, increased tax revenue and the free education policy will be enhanced further.
Dr. Kabeta stressed that this is one reason why republican president Hakainde Hichilema has given incentives to the mining sector so the the 3 million tonnes of copper target becomes a reality.
And Dr. Kabeta called for more partnership especially amongst small scale miners in order to grow the industry at a faster rate.
