Some senior members of the Movement for Democratic Change MDC have with immediate effect resigned from the party and joined the New Heritage party led by Ms. Chishala Kateka.

Addressing the media, former MDC National chairperson Sam Moyo says the decision was not a light one to make but had to be done for the betterment of the Zambian Political scene.

And Mr. Moyo has described MDC leader Felix Mutati as a dictatorial type of leader whose ideals did not resonate with majority members of the MDC causing them to resign from the party.

Mr. Moyo has since pledged to work with the devoted Heritage Party because the party’s ideals are in sync with those of the MDC.

And New Heritage Party Leader Chisala Kateka has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to restoring the country’s economy.

Ms. Kateka has condemned the decentralisation policy under the UPND saying very few are benefiting from it and that her government will do things differently by ensuring everyone benefits from the decentralization policy.

Ms. Kateka also thanked the new MDC members reassuring them of equal opportunities in her party as opposed to the side-lining they experienced under Mr. Mutati’s reign.
