Two grade 5 pupils from Angelina Tembo Primary School have died after the school boundary wall collapsed on them.
The girls, both aged 10, were about to enter the school premises when the driver of a Mercedes Benz truck Reg No AJD 7364 identified as Enock Zulu contracted to deliver roofing sheets to the school, missed the gate, and hit into the boundary wall.
The accident happened around 11:50 hours at Angelina Tembo Primary School in Kabwe’s Bwacha Township.
The driver abandoned the truck before the arrival of the officers at the scene of accident. A manhunt to bring him to book has already been launched.
The deceased have been identified by their respective parents as Mirriam Mulenga and Prescious Mundela.
The bodies have been deposited in the Kabwe Central Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
