Kantanshi MP Calls For Improved Conditions Of Service For Miners Under Contracting Companies

Kantanshi Constituency Member of Parliament Anthony Mumba has called on government to look into the conditions of service for miners that are working for contracting companies.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Mafken News, Dr. Mumba says the conditions of service for the workers in contracting companies have not been reviewed for a long time and most of the employees are getting low wages that are not enough for them to survive.
He notes that miners in contracting companies need to be recognised because they are among those in the front line of production in mining companies.
He ads that the good incentives being given to direct employees should also be enjoyed by those in contracting companies.
Meanwhile, the law maker has disclosed to Mafken News that Finance and National Planning Minister Dr.Situmbeko Musokotwane will soon visit Mopani Copper Mines to discuss issues concerning the mine among them,the working conditions for miners under contracting companies.
