Government Warns Against Using the Police Service For Illegal Activities

Minister of home affairs and Internal Security Jack Mwimbu says government will root out the bad eggs from the Zambia Police service that are tainting the image of the service.
Mr. Mwimbu says the police service is a calling and those who have not been called should not use it as a conduit to conduct illegal activities.
And the Minister has also has reiterated the importance of an effective and efficient police service.
Speaking during the pass out of 1,373 recruit constables for the 2023/2024 intake at the Zambia police Training College in Lusaka, Mr. Mwimbu urged the police officers to demonstrate professionalism as they carry out their mandate.
The minister also called on the recruits to be custodians of Zambia’s internal security and maintain high levels of discipline while serving the nation with diligence, pride and fairness.
