ICTAZ Praises Government for Tech Innovations to Enhance Mining Safety

The Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) has praised government for its commitment to integrating technology innovations in the mining sector to enhance safety.
In an exclusive interview in Kitwe, ICTAZ President Clement Sinyangwe expressed optimism that technological advancements would help reduce the frequency of mining accidents, especially those involving illegal miners.
Dr Sinyangwe emphasized the potential of machine learning technology, which allows computers to analyze data and make predictions or decisions without explicit programming, adding that this technology could be used to anticipate potential disasters and assess the safety of ongoing mining activities, contributing to a safer mining environment.
