A farmer in Mufulira District has expressed frustration over delayed payments from the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) for maize supplied in July.

Mwila Muleya claims he has yet to receive payment, despite the FRA’s recent announcement of over 3 billion Kwacha disbursed to farmers.

The FRA assured farmers that payments are being processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and all outstanding payments will be cleared soon.

However, speaking in an exclusive interview with Mafken News, Mr Muleya emphasized that FRA allegedly promised payments within 21 days, yet three months have passed without resolution.

He stated that the delayed payment has affected his ability to make payments for the Farmer Input Support Program (FISP), urging government to expedite the process.
