Opposition Citizens First Party President Harry Kalaba has condemned what he calls the ongoing abuse of governance under President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration.

In a statement to Mafken News, Mr. Kalaba highlighted the continued detention of political opponents without formal charges, describing it as a clear indication of an oppressive regime.

He expressed concern over the detention of Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Raphael Nakachinda on what he termed frivolous charges, asserting that this action is intended to undermine the opposition and disenfranchise voters.

Mr. Kalaba urged President Hichilema and government to refrain from misusing the law, emphasizing that Zambia has historically been seen as a beacon of hope but is allegedly now at risk of becoming a police state under the current leadership.
