Fuel supply in Mufulira District on the Copperbelt Province, has returned to normal after a two-day shortage that left filling stations dry.

A spot check by Mafken News found that filling stations were operating smoothly, with no queues reported and motorists able to access fuel without any difficulties.

The shortage followed protests by some Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) over the recent fuel pump price reduction by the Energy Regulation Board (ERB), which led to a temporary halt in fuel sales.

Speaking on the matter, Mufulira-based businessman Reagan Kashinga urged government to find a lasting solution to the recurring fuel supply challenges.

Mr Kashinga has stressed that OMCs should not be expected to subsidize fuel at the expense of their own business operations.
