Socialist Party Accuses UPND Of Facilitating By Elections To Syphon Money

Opposition Socialist Party leader Dr. Fred M’membe has bemoaned the erosion in the electoral system especially in by elections under the UPND government.
Dr. M’membe has accused the UPND of causing the by elections as a way for them to syphon money into their personal accounts because the by elections come with money spending.
He has also alleged that in most instances the by elections are not free and fair as UPND is using civil servants to participate in by elections adding that most District Commissioners have been seen going to vote in by elections.
Addressing the media on the state of the nation, Dr. M’membe also suspected the UPND government of mobilising the Electoral Commission of Zambia ECZ to make constitutional amendments so as to perpetuate their stay in power.
