Teachers In Mufulira Commemorate Teachers Day

Teachers in Mufulira District on the Copperbelt province yesterday joined the rest of the country in commemorating the World Teachers day under the theme “Valuing Teachers Voices towards a New Social Contract for Education” which was commemorated on the 4th of October this year as opposed to the annual date 5th October.
Mufulira District Administrative Officer Zakeyo Kamanga who represented the District Commissioner at the event, thanked the District Board Secretary – DEBS and the entire teacher populous of the District for scooping first position at grade 7, 9 and 12 levels in last year’s public examinations.
Meanwhile, Kantanshi constituency Member of Parliament Anthony Mumba challenged teachers in Mufulira to be presenting their challenges to the local leaders so that solutions can be found in due time.
