A resident of Kansuswa in Mufulira district on the Copperbelt Province, Henry Tayali has accused Mufulira Municipal Council of selling land he inherited from his father which according to him was originally gifted to the people of Kansuswa by Queen Elizabeth the second.

According to Mr. Tayali the land, situated in Old Kansuswa, was never meant to be sold as it was intended to benefit the local community free of charge.

He has since used the land in question for various agricultural activities such as the establishment of a cooperative focused on fish and vegetable farming.

But when reached for a comment by Mafken News, Mufulira Town Clerk Kasongo Musogole offered no further comment, but stated that she would institute investigations into the matter.
