The Energy Regulation Board has adjusted Downwards the Fuel pump prices for the month of October.
Petrol has been reduced from 33 kwacha 47 ngwee to 32 kwacha 70 ngwee, Diesel from 30 kwacha 5 ngwee to 28 kwacha 90 ngwee, while kerosene has moved from 27 kwacha 52 ngwee to 26 kwacha 95 ngwee.
In a statement issued to Mafken News, ERB Board Chaiperson James Banda says the decline in prices was driven by a decision by the Organisation for the Petroleum Exporting Councries (OPEC) to go ahead with increased global output.
Mr Banda adds that during the month of September 2024, the Kwacha against the United States Dollar moved by 1 percent adding that the notable fall in the prices of oil on the international market also provided a positive impact of lower domestic fuel prices.
The prices come into effect at midnight on 30 September, 2024 and shall remain in effect until revised by the ERB.
