Ministry of Agriculture on the Copperbelt Province has assured farmers in province that farming inputs under Farmer input support program FISP are available.

Copperbelt Provincial Agricultural Coordinator officer Sekanayo Ng’ambi says government has engaged national suppliers who are supplying all the agro-dealers at uniform prices across the board.

Speaking during agriculture food and input fair in Mufulira district, at Mupena agricultural Camp Ms. Ng’ambi says farmers should start making deposits for the inputs because by 30th October 2024 government will not stop receiving the deposits.

And gracing the event Mufulira Mayor Tanaeli Kamanga says Government is ready to give farmers loans so that there are able to produce different type’s food and supply them to chain stores.

Mr. Kamanga added that his council has started rehabilitating feeder roads in the district to smoothen the movement of agriculture products by farmers.

Agriculture Food and input fair organising chairperson George Mwewa says government should monitor agro-dealers so that they don’t exploit farmers by hiking prices for the inputs during collections.
