Kantanshi Member of Parliament Anthony Mumba has urged government not to stifle the rights of citizens to gather ad assemble freely.
Mr. Mumba says there is no need to try and curtail opposition parties from holding rallies as no one knows who may hold office in the next coming elections.
He has advised the UPND government to focus on delivering on their campaign promises as opposed to dedicating their time to trivial matters.
He was reacting to the alleged cancellation of a rally which Zambia’s sixth Republican president Edgar Chagwa Lungu was supposed to hold in eastern province under the Tonse Alliance.
