Government Unveils K217.1 Billion 2025 National Budget

Finance and National planning minister Situmbeko Musotwane has unveiled the 2025 National Budget.
And government has proposed to spend K217.1 billion in the year 2025
The national budged has seen an increase in the Constituency Development Fund ( CDF) to a tune of K36.1 million per constituency.
Dr. Musokotwane has however warned officers delaying progress in the disbursement of the funds.
He further stated that government has lost patience over the matter and such officers will be dealt with accordingly.
Future Preneur Zambia has expressed concerns regarding the ongoing challenges faced by the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in terms of uptake, despite recent increments in funding.
In an interview with Mafken News, Executive Director Martin Kampamba highlighted that one of the pressing issues is the CDF loan component, which he believes lacks sufficient capacity-building initiatives.
Mr. Kampamba emphasized the need for training programs for individuals approved to receive loans, stressing the importance of understanding the repayment obligations associated with these resources.
He also urged local authorities to engage more actively with the community to address specific issues and ensure the effective utilization of the CDF.
