Residents of Konkonyo Township in Mufulira District are voicing growing concerns over increased sulphur emissions from Mopani Copper Mines, which they believe are negatively impacting their health.
Margret Bwalya, a local resident, has shared her distress with Mafken News, highlighting that the emissions are exacerbating respiratory problems among the community.
Another resident, Fidelis Mwango, reported developing chest pains he attributes to the alleged pollution.
The affected residents are urging authorities to take action and hold the mine accountable for its environmental impact.
They are calling for an immediate investigation and intervention to address their health concerns.
