Baby Dies In Road Traffic Accident As Bus Carrying Kitwe SDA Campers Falls Into A River

A Baby has died on the spot after a minibus carrying close to 40 Seventh Day Adventist members from a church camp overturned and fell into Mwambeshi Stream in Kitwe – Copperbelt, this morning.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba says the accident happened when the bus was being driven from the northern towards the southern direction and in the process it rolled backwards and plunged into Mwambashi river.
Mr Mweemba Tells Mafken News that the accident happened around 10:20 hours today along C.E.C Power lines Garneton Kitwe in which a MITSUBISHI ROSA which had a damaged left part and the same was being driven by Patrick Mutakafimbo aged 37 of Kawama Kitwe who sustained no injuries.
The Commissioner adds that a baby girl aged between 3 and 5 years was pronounced dead upon arrival at Kitwe Teaching Hospital while the other 37 passengers 22 adults and 14 juveniles were treated and discharged from Chimwemwe level one Hospital Kitwe.
