The Buy Zed Campaign has endorsed government’s proposed plan to transition from the distribution of free seeds and fertilizer under the Farmer Input Support Program (CDF) to a loan-based approach.
In an interview with Mafken FM radio, Buy Zed Campaign Executive Director, Evans N’goma says the anticipated innovation has potential to provide great benefits to the people of Zambia.
Mr Ng’oma, however, notes that while the concept appears promising, its feasibility will depend on its implementation and practicality.
Recently, during a parliamentary session, Agriculture Minister Reuben Mtolo revealed that government intends to shift to a loan based farmer support program, stating that the pilot project will involve 30,000 farmers.
