KATETE MAN ARRESTED FOR MURDERING AND ATTEMPTING TO SELL CORPSE OF AN ALBINO FOR K1 MILLION

Police in Katete District, Eastern Province, have arrested a suspect for murdering an albino and attempting to sell the corpse for one million Kwacha.
In a statement availed to Mafken FM Radio, Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer, Limpo Liywalii has disclosed that, the suspect, Kelvin Paul Banda, a male adult of Chief Kawaza’s area in Katete District was arrested yesterday.
He adds that the victim has been identified as Chaleka Banda, a 46-year-old person living with albinism from Nkungulu village in the same district.
Mr Liywalii reveals that the police acted on a tip-off received that there was an individual who was in possession of a body of an albino and that he was selling him for One Million Kwacha (K1,000,000).
The Eastern Police Chief further discloses that officers conducted an operation that led to the apprehension of the suspect who later led them to the recovery of the body.
