Abductors Jailed To Life

Lusaka High Court Judge, Charles Kafunda has sentenced abductors, James Bwalya and Mathews Sikaonga to life imprisonment with hard labour for abducting and sexually abusing 13 young women last October among them the Mobile money booth operator Pamela Chisumpa.

The convicts are facing 54 counts of Abduction, Rape, Assault and Aggravated robbery.

On 03 October, 2022, Pamela Chisumpa, the 22-year-old Mobile Money Booth operator was kidnapped about 6-months before she was found at a house in Lusaka’s Chalala area together with twelve other young women.

On that fateful day, former Inspector General of Police Lemmy Kajoba led a team of police officers to the crime scene and said that all the victims were found and taken to a medical facility for quick Medical attention and one suspect was apprehended to help with Investigations.

Police investigations later led to the arrest of James and Mathews in Kaoma District in Western Province where they had escaped to after fleeing the scene of the crime.
