MOH LAUNCHES DOOR-TO-DOOR POLIO VACCINATION CAMPAIGN IN MUFULIRA DISTRICT

The Ministry of Health in Mufulira District has launched a door-to-door Polio Vaccination Campaign to be conducted from 19th to 25th June, 2023.
District Health Director, Kambole Mphande says the Health personnel will be visiting homes, Schools, households and other places in the district to administer two drops of the polio vaccine to children under 5 years.
Mr. Mphande has disclosed that the district has received enough polio vaccines to cater for all children under the age of five years in the district.
He adds that the children of Mufulira are at risk of getting the Polio virus due to the outbreak of the disease in the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo- DRC.
And speaking during the official launch held at Chibolya Clinic yesterday, Mufulira District Commissioner, Saboi Kabika has urged residents to respond positively to the Polio Vaccination exercise.
The Ministry of Health and its partners will conduct a National Polio Campaign in all the ten provinces of Zambia in the next 7 days.
