Opposition Political parties branded irrelevant over LGBTQ rights

The UPND Chairman for Mines and Freedom Fighter Percy Chanda says opposition political parties have abandoned their role of providing credible checks and balances to the ruling Government.

Mr. Chanda has noted that opposition parties have engaged themselves in spreading falsehoods and insults which he described to unfortunate especially now that the country needs them to play a key role in consolidating the country’s democracy.

He adds that this unfortunate situation has rendered the opposition irrelevant to the needs and aspirations of many Zambians.

Speaking in a statement availed to Mafken FM radio, Mr. Chanda has bemoaned the falsehoods coming from the opposition on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning LGBTQ rights which he described to be a clear testimony that the opposition is in disarray.
