ERB CLARIFIES ZESCO CONNECTION FEES

The Energy Regulation Board says it has not received any application from ZESCO limited to change its connection fees.
In a statement availed to Diamond News, ERB Public Relations Manager, Namukolo Kasumpa, says the purported revision of connection fees do not have the approval of ERB and must therefore be considered null and void.
Ms. Kasumpa adds that anyone subjected to the purported new charges should report to ERB as guided under section 4(e) of the Energy Regulation Act.
And ZESCO Senior Corporate Affairs and Public Relations Manager, John Kunda, has maintained that the power utility has not increased connection fees.
Dr. Kunda however says connection fees will be based on cost reflective prices as has been the case.
