Police officer arrested for allegedly shooting dead State prosecutor Nsama Nsama and Upnd cadre Joseph Kaunda

A Zambia Police Constable who has been identified as Fanwell Nyundu aged 25 has been arrested and charged with murder for allegedly killing state Prosecutor, Nsama Nsama and UPND member, Joseph Kaunda.

In a brief statement, police Spokesperson Esther Katongo says Constable Nyundu is in police custody awaiting court appearance.Mr. Nsama and Kaunda were on December 23 last year killed during the appearance of UPND Hakainde Hichilema at the police headquarters for interrogations regarding the purchase of his farm in Kalomo District.

Yesterday, the National Prosecution Authority NPA had sent back the docket of the deceased people to police for further investigations which investigations have now resulted in the arrest of constable Nyundu.Constable Nyundu faces a death penalty if found guilty and convicted.On January 26, 2021, President Edgar Lungu through his Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations Isaac Chipampe revealed that he had received a report from Mr. Kanganja on the shooting of the two citizens which he handed over to the Director of Public Prosecution for further study.
