4,200 Teachers Recruited

The Teaching Service Commission has handed over a list of 4,200 newly recruited teachers to the Ministry of Education under the 2024 teacher recruitment exercise.

 

And the names of successful teachers recruited will be published today.

Teaching Service Commission Chairperson Daphine Chimuka who made the list available to education minister Douglas Syakalima in Lusaka said the move demonstrates governments’ committement to offer quality education to all Zambians.

 

Ms Chimuka notes that the recruitments will also provide the much needed acceptable teacher/pupil ratio in schools country wide.

 

She further stated that the move also aligns with the newly introduced competence education curriculum which is responsive to the current education demands.

 

And Mr. Syakalima disclosed that this years’ recruitment was unique because no new applicants were called on as selection was based on the availabity of the existing data base of applicants.

 

Mr. Syakalima stressed that government will endeavor to improve the education systems and that it will continue with its ambitious recruitment exercise of teachers annually.
