OYV Concerned Over Defaulters of the CDF and CEEC Loans

Operation Young Vote OYV has expressed concerns over the continued failure by beneficiaries of the Constituency Development Fund CDF and the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission CEEC loans to pay back.
OYV Executive Director Guess Nyirenda is dismayed by the repeated warning form president Hakainde Hichilema regarding loan defaults and is calling for concrete solutions instead of mere complaints.
Mr. Nyirenda has criticized Minister of Local Government Garry Nkombo for echoing the president’s concerns without highlighting recovering strategies.
He alleges that political cadres often benefited from these loans in the past and present with no intention to pay back, there by disadvantaging deserving youths, women and persons living with disabilities who could better utilize the funds.
Mr. Nyirenda has urged government to enforce loan repayment rules and ensure that funds serve as true revolving resources for economic growth.
