Lunte Member of Parliament Mutotwe Kafwaya has denied assertions that corruption under the UPND Government is going down according to the recent Corruption Perception Index CPI which showed Zambia improving from 33 points to 36 points last year.
Mr. Kafwaya says there is so many corruption incidents happening in Zambia among them the Continuous direct bidding of contracts by the UPND Government, concealing of containers of medicines, the recent gold that was discovered at the airport, the theft of Mukula logs among many others.
Addressing the Media, Mr. Kafwaya stated that based on these and other many other occurrences, it is difficult to accept that corruption is going down.
Mr. Kafwaya has described the perception index as garbage emphasising that the UPND is the one perpetuating corruption instead of fighting it.
