Some Drivers at Lusaka’s Kulimatower bus station are calling on the local authority to clear blocked drainages that are causing floods in the area.
Despite the challenges, the drivers are relieved that a water suction pump has been installed, which has greatly improved the situation.
Peter Musonda, one of the drivers, praised the government for providing the pump, which has transformed the station’s premises.
However, chairperson of the Kaunda Square Root, Gestable Chikambwe, emphasized that more needs to be done to address the root cause of the problem.
Mr Chikambwe urged the relevant authorities to unblock the blocked drainages, which are contributing to the flash floods.
