Cash for work participants in Mufulira District are calling on authorities to expedite their payments once they complete their assignments.
Emma kabwe has expressed frustration over delays, stating that workers sometimes wait up to two months to receive their wages.
Ms. Kabwe has emphasized the need for immediate payment upon completion of work, as many depend on these funds to sustain their livelihoods.
Another beneficiary Judith Kabwe echoed her concerns, requesting that the government consider increasing the payments to better support their businesses.
In response to these concerns, Copperbelt Province Minister Elisha Matambo recently urged all councils in the region to ensure timely payments for cash for work participants.
During the official opening of the Mufulira Roundabout, he warned that failure to comply could result in job losses for Council workers.
