CONCERNS RAISED OVER ALLEGED HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN CHIBOLYA

A concerned resident of Lusaka’s Chibolya compound has expressed concerns at the continued abrogation of human rights by the police and other law enforcement agencies when executing their duties in Chibolya.

Ms. Christine Natumfya has told Mafken news in Lusaka that the Zambia police and other law enforcement agencies destroy their properties such as doors in search of drugs and criminals in their homes.

 

She has lamented that they are not treated with respect and dignity by the police and other law enforcement agencies when conducting their duties.

Ms. Natumfya has explained with sadness on her face that they are humiliated before their children by the law enforcement agencies when they visit their places to search for illegal drugs and criminals.

 

She has since urged the law enforcement officers to stop this humiliating behaviour because not every household in Chibolya is harbouring drugs and criminals.
