Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing the rising crime rate in Chingola District on the Copperbelt.

Residents of Chingola have for a while now been living in fear following a rise in crimes such as robberies and assaults, prompting calls for swift action to curb the situation.

 

And Speaking during a press briefing at the Chingola Municipal Council, Mr. Matambo assured attendees that the government will confront criminal activities head-on, implementing robust measures to restore peace and security in the district.

The Minister announced that the Commissioner of Police will be reinforcing manpower from other districts to enhance law enforcement capabilities, ensuring that patrols are conducted both day and night. 

 

He further announced plans to strengthen neighbourhood watch programs and urged the public to remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious activities without fear.
