MUFULIRA RECORDS MPOX CASE

Mufulira District on the Copperbelt has recorded its first case of Mpox.
This development has been announced by Health Minister Elijah Muchima during a media briefing in Lusaka.
Dr. Muchima said the case involves a 28-years-old woman of Zimba compound who resides few kilometers from the Neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The minister disclosed that the said woman presented herself at Ng’ambi health center for treatment and the results came out positive bringing the total number of Mpox cases on the Copperbelt to four.
Mr Muchima further disclosed that the mufulira victim is quarantined at Chibolya clinic and close contacts are being monitored.
