SOME ZNS OFFICERS TO FACE JOB LOSSES OVER MEALIE MEAL SMUGGLING ALLEGATIONS

A shocking revelation has emerged from the Zambia National Service (ZNS), where an undisclosed number of officers are on the verge of losing their jobs due to their alleged involvement in the smuggling of mealie meal. 

 

The alarming news was disclosed by ZNS Lieutenant General Maliti Solochi during a courtesy visit to Copperbelt Province’s Permanent Secretary Augustine Kasongo.

According to Lieutenant General Solochi, the officers in question are facing serious allegations of unprofessional conduct, including illicit trade in mealie meal. 

 

This development comes as the Zambia National Service is working to prevent the smuggling of essential commodities, including mealie meal.

Meanwhile, the government’s firm stance against illegal activities undermining the community’s welfare has been welcomed by the provincial leaders.

 

Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary Augustine Kasongo has praised the move saying it serves as reminder to stakeholders uphold ethical standards.
